  We were pretty excited when we saw Cody's Roadhouse in Ocala,since we'd recently eaten at one in Spring Hill. Boy, were we disappointed. Our waiter was nice, but the service was SLOW( It took nearly an hour to get our food). The staff appeared to be too busy playing to properly serve their customers. We finally got our drinks (ice tea). The tea tasted like chlorine water with a touch of sugar. We ordered ribs, brisket, rotisserie chicken, steak, and coconut shrimp, along with onion rings and fried mushrooms as our appetizers. The appetizers and the coconut shrimp was the only edible thing on our table. Basically paid for drinks, appetizers and coconut shrimp...such a waste of money.
  
  We have eaten at many restaurants across the country and this by far, was the worst. There are plenty of other restaurants to choose from nearby. I highly recommend trying one of them or take the drive to Spring Hill. You won't be disappointed there.
  
  I hope management reads these reviews and thinks about the damage done with their former customers. The place has potential but it's being run poorly.

  Everything was perfect. Didn't have to wait too long for server, didn't have to ask for refills, or rolls. Bob was an awesome server and made sure we didn't need anything. Food, environment and time were all top notch. Will definitely return.

  Having moved to Ocala almost four months ago, we've been to Cody's three times. The food has been mostly mediocre, though their onion rings are pretty good and the cinnamon butter for the rolls is great. Service has been friendly but poor. The first two visits, at dinner time, were moderate service - not great, not awful. Our third, and last, visit was recently at lunch, and it was very poor. It was around 2pm, so it was slow, but we had to specifically request the free bread, which all of the tables around got several refills of without asking - from our server and another server in the area. When we finally got it, the bread we got was three teeny rolls that were all over-cooked and not good at all. Our food took around 25 minutes to come out, which was soup and salad (already made) and a fried chicken sandwich (should take 8 minutes tops). Two tables that ordered after us got their food first. Annoying, but, not the end of the world since there's bread and peanuts. The chicken sandwich was supposed to be a buffalo chicken sandwich with hot sauce - there was none sauce. It was at least 5 minutes before the server came back to check on us, at which point the buffalo sauce had to be requested. When it arrived, it was mild. Won't be visiting again.

  Arrived on a Tuesday evening around 5:30. Seating was great due to the time, it was around shift change so it took a bit longer than expected. Atmosphere was great and service was comparable. Everything went well until I got my food. I ordered the 10oz top sirloin and a loaded baked potato. The steak came rare and the potato looked and tasted as if it had been in heated holding all day. Drinks came after waiter forgot them. When I expressed my dissatisfaction, the only offer to make things right was to put my steak back on the grill. No seasoning and bland taste actually made me try to eat it with A1 sauce. Worst steak ever, and this is a roadhouse restaurant known for steaks. Manager finally comes near the end because server can tell I was unhappy and took the sum of the steak off. Don't let a 1st time experience deter you from such a great roadhouse experience. Be sure to leave your peanuts on the floor!
